COMPOSER, conductor, ORCHESTRATOR
Jeremy Leidhecker holds a B.S. in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s Degree in Conducting from Messiah College, and a Master's Degree in Scoring for Film and Visual Media from Pulse College in Dublin, Ireland. Jeremy toured with the seven-time world champion Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps in 2007 and 2008, and served as the Director of Bands of Northern High School in the Northern York County School District from 2009 to 2013.
In the summer of 2017, Jeremy was hired by Pulse College to lead the Music Technology module for the MA in Scoring for Film and Visual Media Masters degree program. He also lectured on the Studio Conducting module, conducted recording sessions for the college’s MA program, and served as a thesis advisor for the program’s Masters theses.
Currently, Jeremy resides in Dublin, Ireland and serves as the Creative Director and Director of International Recruitment and Admissions for both the Film Scoring Academy of Europe (Sofia, Bulgaria) and the Film Scoring Summer Program (Varna, Bulgaria), and continues to serve as the Assistant Musical Director and Conductor of The Commonwealth Pops Orchestra.
Jeremy's compositions have won multiple awards worldwide in film music competitions. Jeremy is the 2015 winner of the Marvin Hamlisch Film Scoring Contest, with his score to "Flip" being chosen from over 500 composers from 50 countries. Previously, Jeremy's score to "Sebastian's Voodoo" was ranked 3rd of nearly 400 submissions from 33 countries in the 2014 film scoring contest sponsored by CINE. Jeremy was then ranked 4th of 172 composers around the world in the 2017 Oticons Faculty International Film Music Competition, and 3rd in the renowned 2017 Transatlantyk Film Music Competition in Łódź, Poland which earned him a trip to Łódź to participate in the festival with founder and Oscar-winning composer Jan A. P. Kaczmarek.
Jeremy is an active orchestrator with ongoing collaborations with multiple high profile artists and productions, including Michael Cavanaugh, the star of Billy Joel’s hit Broadway Musical, “Movin’ Out”, Adam Rapa, acclaimed trumpeter and Lotus Trumpets founder, and The Four Italian Tenors, Italy’s premiere tenor quartet.
Jeremy’s orchestrations have been performed by some of the most notable orchestras in the world, including the Thailand Philharmonic, Malaysian Philharmonic, Philly Pops, Nashville Symphony, Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Bulgarica, amongst others.
